What is rape? rape is forceful sex, we often underestimate the damage that rape can cause to a woman’s mind, and the psychological effect it will have. Recently most governors in nigeria passed a bill that allows death penalty for kidnappers, not killers…..what does a kidnapper do? He holds you hostage, and demands a ransom, even if he does not kill you, if he is caught, death penalty awaits him. Who are the victims when it comes to kidnapping? The rich and famous, d politicians and business men, so you can see why they needed to bring a strong law to protect themselves. Rape involves taking hostage, abusing, torturing, taking away of woman hood, from a lady, and destroying her mind. I think that is worse than kidnapping. Who are the victims? Children that are mostly from poor background, because the rich usually move around with security details, besides, raping the daughter of a rich man or woman can be dangerous for the rapist, because with their wealth they can seek for justice faster or even seek other means to deal with the matter, but they poor can’t get justice, at least not in nigeria. What is punishment for rape and abuse? A few years imprisonment. There should be a stiffer law protecting women, a law that equals that of kidnapping. Women can’t continue like this, something must be done.
